Create & Beaming

Click on "CREATE" to create a new Quiz or Slide.

Create a Quiz

Click on "Quiz" to create a new Quiz.

Click on "Quiz" to create a new Quiz.

Click on the "+" button to add questions or activities to your Quiz.

Choose one of the options by clicking on it.

Short Answer Question

Type your question and click on the "ADD ANSWER" button.

Type the correct answer. You can add multiple correct answers by clicking on the "ADD OTHER CORRECT ANSWER" button.

Tip: Don't add an answer if you want this to be an open-ended question. 

Note that you will be able to allocate only participation points to an open-ended question.

Multiple Choice Question

Type your question and click on "ADD OPTION" to add your distractors.

Add all of your options and indicate which is the correct response by clicking on the circle next to it.

Add an image to an option by hovering on the answer and clicking on the image icon next to it.

Click on the pop-up window that opens up to add an image from your computer.

Crop the image if you wish and click on "OK".

You can add an image to each option.

Multiple Select Question

Type your question and click on "ADD OPTION" to add your distractors.

Add all the options.

Indicate which are the correct answers by clicking on the checkboxes next to them.

Select the difficulty of the question, Bloom's taxonomy level and allocate points for efficacy and participation.

Sorting Activity

Type the title of the activity.

Click on "Add Option" to add the answers in the correct order

Add the answers in the correct order. 

Select the difficulty of the question, Bloom's taxonomy level ,and allocate points for efficacy and participation.


The activity will show up like this to students. We will present the options in an incorrect order. 

Matching Activity

Type the title of the activity. 

Then click on "ADD PAIR" to add the option and the correct match ( you can alternatively add images instead of text)


This is an example of a Matching activity using images and text. 

This is an example of a Matching activity using text only. Note that you can also add incorrect options/distractors to increase the difficulty level. 

Set the shuffle side, select the difficulty of the question, Bloom's taxonomy level, and allocate points for efficacy and participation.

The activity will show up like this to students. We will present the options in an incorrect setting

Diagram Activity

Type the title of the activity and click on the image icon to add an image.

Click on the pop-up window that opens up to add an image from your computer.

Crop the image if you wish and click on "OK".

To mark the desired area in the image, select the circle tool or the pencil tool.

With the circle tool, click once on the screen and drag the cursor to make the circle bigger. 

Once the circle is big enough, click on the screen again.


Tip: You can always move the circle to capture the desired part of the image.

Type the term of the part you just selected, you can also type a description. 

Click on "SAVE".

Your students will have to match the term with the portion selected.

With the pencil tool, click on the part of the image where you want to start your selection. A red little dot will appear where you clicked.


Link that dot with another click, and sequentially connect as many dots as you need to accurately select the portion you want. 



Link the last dot with your first dot to finish your selection.


Type the term of the part you just selected, you can also type a description. 

Click on "SAVE".

Your students will have to match the term with the portion selected (highlighted in red).

Select the difficulty of the activity, Bloom's taxonomy level, and allocate points for efficacy and participation.


Click on "Click on Target" to select the type of activity.


"Click on Target" will prompt a student to identify the term in the image by dropping a pin similar to google maps (Areas will not be highlighted). 

"Matching" will prompt a student to match the terms with the highlighted areas (hotspots) on the image.


Create a Slide Deck

Click on "Upload Slides" to upload your slides

Click on the pop-up window that opens up to upload your slides. 

Note that we only support PPT, PPTX or PDF files.


You will receive this message. Close the window and wait for your slides to show up in your list.


Please note that you can also embed questions or activities in between your slides to assess your students understanding in real-time.

Click on the "+" button and choose.


Beaming

1. To go live or beam your quiz or slide click on "BEAM"

2. Select "Yes" to provide grade points to the activities in your Beam.

3. Select if you want it o be graded for participation, efficacy, both or neither.

4. Select your Class Section.

You can also require a password to take attendance.


Click on "START".


This window shows you the details of your "Beam" session. Once your students have joined (ATTENDEES IN SESSION), click on "START BEAM".


In the "Beam" window:

1. The list icon: navigate through all your questions, activities or slides in your Beam session.

2. Open this activity enables students to submit their responses.

3. Close the activity. Students can no longer attempt the activity.

4.Review your students' responses.

5. Go to the next activity or slide.

6. Go to the next activity or slide.

7. Finish your "Beam" session and submit all activity responses for grading. 

Important: 

Graded Beam sessions show up on your Assignment Gradebook with grade points. If you have LMS integration setup for your class, grades from a Beam session get pushed to your LMS gradebook.

8.Exit the beaming session.

9. Shows total number of student responses for the given activity.
